Ripple Partners With Ondo Finance to Tokenize U.S. Treasuries on XRPL
Ondo Finance, a platform specializing in tokenized real-world assets, is integrating its $185 million U.S. Treasury token (OUSG) with the enterprise-oriented XRP Ledger. Announced on Tuesday, this move aims to broaden institutional access to the offering.
The collaboration introduces Ondo Short-Term U.S. Government Treasuries (OUSG), a tokenized product backed by the Blackrock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL). Ripple’s enterprise-grade stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD), will power the instantaneous minting and redemption of OUSG, enabling institutional investors to manage their assets with unmatched efficiency.
Institutional-Grade Financial Solutions
Tokenized U.S. Treasuries like OUSG have become increasingly attractive to institutions due to their liquidity, transparency, and cost efficiency. Ripple highlighted XRPL’s compliance-first infrastructure as central to its role in ensuring secure and reliable transactions. This new initiative aligns with Ripple’s broader commitment to integrating real-world assets onto blockchain platforms.
Katie Wheeler, Vice President of Partnerships at Ondo, emphasized the strategic importance of XRPL for institutional adoption:
“The combination of a compliance-first, yield-bearing product like OUSG and XRPL’s scalable, low-fee infrastructure is transformative for decentralized finance.”
Enhanced Treasury Management Tools
Markus Infanger, Ripple’s Senior Vice President of Ripplex, underscored the collaboration’s impact on capital flow management. With 24/7 settlement capabilities and robust decentralized identifiers (DIDs), institutions gain new flexibility in their treasury strategies.
The XRPL ecosystem, known for its scalability and security, continues to position itself as a leader in tokenized assets and decentralized finance (DeFi). As Ripple advances its efforts in tokenizing real-world assets, the partnership with Ondo Finance underscores the growing adoption of blockchain in institutional finance.
With initiatives like OUSG, Ripple and Ondo Finance are at the forefront of redefining how traditional financial tools integrate with blockchain technology.
